Step 5-How to Install Memory on the Motherboard
This article will cover the install memory tutorial.
Installing the RAM memory sticks is an easy task. The Asus P4P8x motherboard has dual channel memory. The RAM needs to be placed in certain slots to make this feature work.
The slots for dual channel memory on the Asus P4p8x motherboard are color coded blue. Consult your motherboard documentation to install your particular RAM.
Once you know which slots you are going to use, examine the RAM and the memory slots on the motherboard.
Note that the DDR RAM has a notch on the bottom that is off center.
This is to insure that it only fits into the memory slot one way.
Line up the notch on the memory stick with the corresponding key on the motherboard memory slot. Use your thumbs and apply even force on both ends of the RAM stick until it is forced into the slot.
Make sure the retainer clips on each end snap into place.
