Step 6- Install Motherboard in Computer Case

This article will cover the install motherboard in computer case tutorial.

Once you have the standoffs all screwed in you are ready to install the motherboard.

Start the motherboard installation by lining up the rear connectors-the USB, PS/2, video and other ports-with the holes in the I/O shield at the rear of the case.

Once the connectors have been poked through the I/O shield, lower the front of the motherboard onto the standoffs.

Check again before you screw it down to make sure that the standoffs are in their proper locations.

Again, it is critical to get this step right. The least that can happen if you short a standoff is the computer won't boot.

The worst that can happen is a ruined motherboard. Be careful.

Now insert the screws and screw it down. Don't over tighten the motherboard screws! Snug is fine.
